who we are

El Camino Academy is a non-denominational Christian, college-preparatory school in Bogotá committed to shaping students through a deeply integrated biblical worldview and full English immersion.

We partner with evangelical families who desire rigorous academics without compromising spiritual formation. At ECA, faith and learning are inseparable. Students are challenged intellectually while being discipled spiritually, preparing them not only for university acceptance, but for a lifetime of faithful leadership.

Our commitment is to graduate young men and women who know Christ, think critically, communicate fluently in English, and engage the world with conviction and compassion.

Philosophy of education

Education Under the Authority of Scripture

At El Camino Academy, we believe Scripture is the ultimate authority for faith and life. Our educational philosophy is rooted in historic evangelical Christianity and a commitment to biblical truth.

Faith is not confined to Bible class. It informs how we teach science, literature, history, mathematics, and the arts. Students are trained to evaluate ideas through Scripture, think with discernment, and engage cultural issues with theological clarity.

All faculty annually affirm our Statement of Faith and are committed to Christ-centered instruction and discipleship within their classrooms. Academic excellence and spiritual formation are not competing priorities—they are unified commitments.

Spiritual Formation & Discipleship

Spiritual growth is cultivated intentionally through:

  • Systematic Bible instruction
  • Chapel services centered on Scripture
  • Daily prayer and biblical reflection
  • Mentorship and accountability
  • Service opportunities grounded in Christian compassion

Our aim is not mere moral development, but transformed lives shaped by the gospel of Jesus Christ.

Our English Immersion Model

English is the primary language of instruction at El Camino Academy.
Students learn, think, write, and communicate academically in English across core subjects.

Our immersion model develops:

  • Advanced academic vocabulary
  • University-level writing and communication skills
  • Confidence in international academic environments
  • Global readiness and cultural awareness

English immersion at ECA is comprehensive and academically rigorous,
equipping students to pursue higher education opportunities in Colombia, the United States, and beyond.

Student Outcomes: The Portrait of an ECA graduate

At El Camino Academy, students are viewed as holistic individuals created in God’s image and called to love Him with all their heart, soul, mind, and strength. Our educational philosophy integrates academic rigor, bilingual development, spiritual formation, and character growth.

We intentionally equip students to achieve the following five outcomes:

Graduates demonstrate proficiency in foundational knowledge, critical thinking skills, and essential competencies across core and non-core disciplines as defined by the ECA curriculum.

Graduates communicate effectively in English and Spanish through listening, speaking, reading, and writing at a high level of proficiency, preparing them for academic and professional contexts in diverse environments.

Graduates develop a Christ-centered identity that shapes healthy interpersonal relationships, emotional resilience, and meaningful engagement within a multicultural community.

Graduates pursue a Spirit-empowered personal relationship with God the Father through Jesus Christ. Their biblical understanding informs a worldview that influences decisions, values, and life direction.

Graduates actively serve others and lead by example, demonstrating integrity, competence, responsibility, and a commitment to positively impact their communities.

Our story

Founded in 1980, El Camino Academy began with a clear vision: to provide Christ-centered education in an English-immersion environment for families seeking both academic excellence and spiritual formation.

Over the decades, ECA has grown into a stable and respected institution serving evangelical families in Bogotá. Through curriculum development, faculty training, and institutional strengthening, the school has remained committed to its founding convictions while adapting to meet the demands of an evolving academic landscape.

Today, ECA continues to prepare students for university pathways and lifelong discipleship, grounded in biblical truth and academic rigor.
